How to make Nutty Delight Bread for your Parrot
Making this Nutty Delight Bread recipe is easy and quick – once you’ve gathered the ingredients, we can begin!
Preheating your oven before you begin is always a good start. So set the thermostat to 180 degrees Celsius / 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Grab a large mixing bowl and start by combining your flour, baking powder and oats with a wooden spoon. Stir in the lightly beaten egg so that it starts to make a dough.
Add your soft fruit, in my case blueberries into the mixture. Now crush your choice of nuts to break them up a bit and stir those in. Finally add the flax seeds, chopped dried apricots, and raisins stirring them all together into your nutty fruity mix!
If your mix is a little dry, you can add a teaspoon of water, carrot, or apple juice to loosen it up a bit so that it is the consistency of a thick cake batter.
Next, pour the batter into a lined loaf pan (I use these handy liners as they are quick and keep the pan clean!) and bake for 30 minutes.

Check whether your bread is done by sliding a clean butter knife into the middle. If it comes out clean your bread is cooked. If it’s a bit sticky, leave your loaf in the oven for another 10 minutes and check again.
Once it’s cooked, let the bread cool down completely before slicing it very thinly and offering to your bird. It is safe for you to eat too, so why not enjoy a slice together. Your parrot will love this delicious and nutritious bread!
